So, it has been about 7 years since I have done anything with this blog, and I figured that now is a better time than any to really try and start it back up, talk about my adventures in none-other than Photography, the art that I love, have worked on for the vast majority of my life, and even have my MFA in the field.

A lot has happened since my last update, I finished my time at Baker University, got my BA in Art History. Received an early acceptance into the Savannah College of Art and Design to work on my Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography, which I completed in 2017. From there, I have become a college professor, have taught two years so far, and one of the leading concert photographers of the Midwest. I have my work regularly published in The Pitch out of Kansas City, and have even had my work graze the pages of USA Today, Yahoo! News, Reuters, Adobe and Alamy Stock Images. Some of the people/bands that I have been fortunate enough to work with/photograph are George Clinton, The Interrupters, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Causalities, Garth Brooks, Dwight Yoakam, The Foo Fighters, Coheed and Cambria, Garbage, Rancid, Flogging Molly, The Dropkick Murphys, Tool, Silversun Pickups, Caribou, The Wombats, and so many more, not including being able to photograph three US Presidents since my last post; Clinton, Obama and Biden (both of the last two when they were in office).

Lets see where this blog goes and what may come of it. I am going to keep the old posts on here, just for history sake, but outside of that, I think I am going to keep this as my adventures in Photography. Most likely call it “Cold Pizza and Coffee”…any why not? Everyone has experienced one of the two in their lives, and it seems like in this world both are essential. Especially today, as I write this from my laptop at 5:30 am, I’ve been up since 3:17, and have a show tonight to photograph at the Granada, Circle Jerks with 7Seconds, and Negative Approach. It is going to be a fantastic show, I am excited for it. I really am. But also, maybe that is why I cannot sleep. A little bit of anxiety maybe already, even though the show doesn’t open for another 13.5 hours or so. I think I’ll get into town (Lawrence) a bit early and do some crowd shots if possible before the doors open. I’m already calling off class for tomorrow…at least holding it online via Zoom. It is the first day back from Cottey’s 2 week spring break, I cannot just cancel both Art History and Photography.

Next Tuesday, a week from tomorrow, I have a meeting with my editor from Reuters. Hope it all goes well.

But photos and stories from tonight’s show will come soon. Until then.
